I've had a fascination with the world and its place in the universe for a while now. These are exercises into designing and creating little worlds of my own.

Grasp, Berlin

The objective was to take a Berlin brand and create a portrait of it. The portrait could have been based on a native brand to Berlin or an aspect of the heritage. I chose to image my portrait around holocaust victims. We were given the opportunity to work outside the usual mediums of graphic design and so I decided to sculpt. The gesture of the hand is to depict a weakened grasp for help. The placard represents 1 in 6,000,000 holocaust victims. The copper is rusted everywhere on the statue but the placard, as time goes by the statue will rust except the placard. The statue is a tribute and a remembrance of the horrific events that took place. These statues are to be placed out around the city of Berlin. When I return to Berlin I plan on sculpting more and beginning the distribution of these statues as a street art project.

The objective was to create an environmental portrait, using photography, compositing, or any other method of image creation in order to project a sense of awe into the viewer. I chose to image a sound engineer that specialized in tube amplifier design and restoration. 

DotFresh and the EduBuilder

The objective was to create a dashboard, or module that could be supplemented to the Art Center College of Design website. It had to benefit someone that worked or attended the college and work as a mobile application. I chose to create a portal for incoming freshmen and all the currently enrolled students. Incoming students have access to much less information in regards to their tracks and available classes, as they do not have the proper login credentials. My solution was the EduBuilder on DotFresh, a portal of track specific information for the incoming students and enrolled students that need quick and up to date information in regards to their classes and tracks. 

Quantified Self in 24 hrs.

The objective was to collect a string of data over a 24-hour period that was relevant to some form of daily task. I chose to collect data about the application usage on my workstation specific to graphic design and in relation to the home power consumption for that 24hr period. This is an info-graphic the represents those data sets in graphical form.
