Revolutionary Road

Directing, Storyboarding, Title Sequence,  Photography, Lighting

The Revolutionary Road title sequence seeks to visualize a main theme projected in the film, but within a completely different decade than the setting of the film. One of the main themes I found the most inspiring, is that following the American dream doesn’t necessarily help in attaining the American Dream.

Set from the point of view of a young man’s dog. David goes about his nightly routine of coming home from work. He goes about the same tasks, eats the same things and has the same type of suite on when he arrives home. David has everything that makes up the American Dream, from the car, to the job, to the house, and even his dog, but there still seems to be something missing in his life. The setting is late 1970’s to early 80’s in Silverlake California. This is the dog’s encounter of his owner’s monotonous nightly routine.
