Transmedia Branding Development

This rebrand was created with the goal of expanding the user base of the Android mobile platform from its current tech user, to older and younger non-tech mobile users. I created a new logotype and logo based off the original identity system that personified its character. The logo is friendly, versatile, fun and seamlessly integrates in 2D, 3D, and Live Action environments.

Transmedia Branding Development, Interaction Design, Interactive Design, Motion

This project was designed as an interactive spatial media to unveil the new look and feel of the Android Branding I had designed. The new icon feels personified almost like a household pet or trusty sidekick, so I wanted to give every person in the room an Android for themselves. Using a web cam and a 3d camera, an interactive program would track the amount of people in the room and display the same amount of Androids inside the projected Android exhibit. Every time a new person walks into the exhibit an Android leaves and brings back another friend. Giving everyone close enough to the exhibit an Android to view for themselves.

Initial sketches

These are some of my initial sketches when studying what forms of transportation would be best to personify the logo and give it character. I found the use of tractor wheels, a helicopter blade, and a hovercraft inter-tube as the best possible combination that could be used in conjunction with each other, while easily transforming in between modes. It shows versitility in the new logo now that it can fly, hover, swim, and move through tough terrain.
